When we're driving along and we see a red light, our immediate thought is usually not a positive one. Studies have shown that the more red lights a driver encounters on their journey, the more stress is found in the body on arrival. But it doesn't need to be this way.
Stopping at a red light in the middle of a journey is an opportunity. An opportunity to do exactly that - stop. Just take a few seconds to relax before continuing to drive. Next time you're at a red light, even if you're not driving but you're a passenger, see if you can challenge yourself to change your mindset. For those few seconds, see if you can relax your whole body and take a couple of deep breaths. Then, instead of arriving stressed at your destination, you'll arrive relaxed.
Give it a try!
